All items are carefully and strictly graded. The grades listed are overall - the grade comments given are explanatory and not additional. In the case of restored comics the apparent grade is given, along with the degree of restoration.

The listing term "Cents copy" refers to an unstamped U.S. cents copy of a comic. This term applies only to comics published from November 1959 onwards, as American comics were, with the odd rare exception, not distributed in the U.K. prior to this date. The term, which is interchangeable with "ND" (Not Distributed in the U.K.) has been denoted only for comics that grade in VG+ and above, with the exception of major items.

Our grading conforms to Overstreet/CGC standards, and is outlined in the terms listed below.

NM (Near Mint) - Almost perfect- glossy comic with white pages. Looks new, regardless of age.
VFN (Very Fine) - Excellent - at first glance perfect but under closer scrutiny a few very small defects are noticeable.
FN (Fine) - Above average. Well kept but some wear is visible. Still a solid, appealing example.
VG (Very Good) - Average. No major defects, more an accumulation of smaller ones. Still a decent item.
G (Good) - A worn, well read comic. Still intact with no large pieces missing.
FA (Fair) - Very low grade, with multiple defects. Pieces missing but not pages.
PR (Poor) - Extremely low grade. Curiosity value only.

We use + and - grades (and split grades) to ensure grading accuracy. "NM+" and "NM/MT" are used mostly with CGC items, or in the case of a particularly striking NM book.

GA = Golden Age. SA = Silver Age.
